Tjess takes the game of chess and spices it with visual hints and variation, trying to find the balance between enough and not too much. The goal is to deliver a natural chess experience, whithout too much visual noise, while still offering subtle effects that support the learning experience.
What it does
- Annotated board — Learn by the masters in positional chess, subtle cues layered on the position, with a slider to dial their strength up or down or delay their entry. Be better to figure out what to do when there is nothing to do.
- Game player — load a PGN and step or auto-play through it, with variations, comments, and a captured-piece tray. Study a position: move the pieces around and see the evaluation change — or take a detour into another game with the same pawn structure.
- Runs on your machine — a local Windows app, which never sends statistics or spy on your study. Your games and study log never leave your computer
